Alycia Parks’ Big Break is Coming
Sorry for the short post. We’re in the off season.
Alycia Parks has been making waves lately after winning back-to-back 125 titles and increasing her ranking from #150 to #75 in three weeks. Parks is American, stands at 6’ 1’’ and may have the biggest serve in the WTA at this very moment.
There’s an explosive confidence in every aspect of Parks’ game. She sports a unique (but technically sound) serve, literally leaping into the competition. Parks has said her service motion comes very naturally to her, which is evident in the quality of the shot (demonstrated by her 15 aces against Sakkari in Ostrava). One aspect that may be worth looking at in Parks’ game is her relatively high amount of double faults. In a period of the WTA where almost all of the big servers seem to be double faulting frequently, having a consistent and massive weapon will be a valuable asset.
Parks has proven to be dangerous against top players. She is a bold player with a big ground game and an enormous serve. 2023 is going to be a good year for the American.
